Just saw the post here about posting info about setting up the Meetups, as have been discussing it in Slack … so figure I’d better post here.
Have setup the Meetup group for Melbourne and just confirming location details for first event.
Details:
City* Melbourne
Country* Australia
Organizer Name(s)* Max Lynam
Organizer email(s)* max@molehill.com.au
Proposed First Meetup Time* early May 2015
URL: http://www.meetup.com/Mautic-Meetup-Melbourne/
Just repurposed the info from Sydney and Detroit ones as a basis for the setup of the Melbourne one. If you want me to change.update/edit anything just let me know. Looking forward to getting the Mautic scene in Melbourne hyped … there’s a pretty active tech and meetup community here, so hope I can pull in a fair few punters

Max,
Thanks for getting involved with meetups and getting others involved with Mautic. We’re working on additional information that might help organize an event. Good to see you already have a Meetup.com URL setup and in-line with the rest. Here are the colors we’d like to have everyone use:
Colors:
Banner: #FDB933
Background: -
Links: #4E5E9E
Buttons: #4E5E9E
Header: https://s3.amazonaws.com/mautic/meetups/mautic_meetup_header_melbourne.png
Thanks for being a part!
David
Have updated accordingly - thanks David.
wondering if there are goodies like stickers, etc we can get to hand out to the techies, geeks and starters who have cool stickers on the laptops in all the co-work, training and startup spaces?
I’d be happy to set it up online for ordering (like at https://www.stickermule.com/products/die-cut-stickers) from those provided here: https://www.mautic.org/about/logos-and-graphics -> with the “Free your marketing!” slogan (I like that).
… but I reckon it should have the little ‘Mautibot’ as well to make the sticker look more awesome
Once setup … can make available for people to purchase https://www.stickermule.com/marketplace … so anyone running meetups, etc can just purchase for the group and know they’ll be consistent and good.
Hey @MaxOnTheHill have there been any successfully organised Mautic Meetups. Again if there is anything I can do to help let me know.
@Tyler we have had 3 Mautic meetups, quite engaged people, but very small crowd/pull. It wasn’t really proving to be all that viable as a meetup just by itself.
We’ve pivoted a little and started a marketing automation meetup, with the same people, but is getting a much bigger audience and engagement - but is platform agnostic.
What we are doing, is still using Mautic for all our demos, as it is our base product that everyone can afford and use … as it allows us to operate with no commercial bias and showcase something accessible to everyone. I have Mautic stickers I hand out at the Meetups as well. Both meetups are running and we’re still promoting Mautic
Sure other people will be showcasing and speaking about other products from time to time, but that’s fine as people have different needs, different budgets and functional requirements. As Mautic matures it will appeal to a larger segment of this audience as well … and already be part of a larger marketing automation community. We may then have two meetups per month, one general marketing automation and another specific to Mautic (or others as well?) … but that’s in the future.
Hope that answers your question … and if you are in Melbourne, come along
