I’m not sure what others are using for online shopping carts? I use Thrivecart which gives me that ability to make quick sales funnels with upsells and downsells pages for products and services. They have all the major autoresponders integrated but NO Mautic and it’s not on the road map as of yet.
If you’re looking for a great and easy to use shopping cart I would encourage you to look at this. You can even embed their checkout pages in your own site which means you could embed them directly into a page built in Mautic if you wanted.

Shopping cart integration would mean dramatic changes to the Mautic base. Ecommerce marketing automation is more than “synchronize contacts between shop and Mautic to send them emails”. It consists of products, an offer engine, 3rd party product catalog integration (e.g. Google Merchant) and stuff like that. Everything would have to be built in Mautic - although Mautic is an ubiquitous marketing automation solution.
My opinion on this: If Mautic should be used to collect leads and transfer them to the ecommerce solution - give it a go. If Mautic should be used to do the whole ecommerce stuff (products, offer engine etc.) - please don’t do it.
