Translating plural forms

How are plural forms supposed to be handled? I would like to translate Mautic to the Czech language, translations tools only mentions, that where appropriate, it will support it, but there is no way to input more strings for phrases where numbers comes to play.

Hi Ondra,

In general, we’ll need to review some of our language string uses to improve support for pluralizations. There are a few strings in the CampaignBundle messages group which should handle plural forms OK though. One example is the {0} minutes|{1} minute|[2,Inf] minutes string. This allows you to define which intervals use a specific form based on the value. This is explained a little more in detail in the Symfony documentation for the translator service.

Hopefully this will help you out for now.

Hi, guys! Just an idea… since Mautic is an Open Source software, why don’t you create a localization project on https://poeditor.com/ to manage everyone’s translation efforts in one place?
The project can have as many languages and contributors as you want and it is free of charge for OS.
You can easily make the project public so that people can self-enroll as translators, so it should be quite helpful.
Regards

Hi summ3r,

We actually have a project set up at Transifex already. Feel free to visit https://www.transifex.com/projects/p/mautic/ to see the current translation activity.

The platform I can recommend is https://phraseapp.com/
It’s a german startup with focus on localization and translation.
