Wordpress Integration - How do I set it up?

Right,

So I’ve just found this amazing tool and I’m eager to start using it. The only thing is…I’m at a loss as to where I should start.

I’ve got a wordpress website and have already installed the mautic plugin and pointed to the base url. That brings me to question 1

1.) is that base url an external mautic setup, or is it the url of your website on which the plugin was installed.

2.) Now that the plugin is installed, how do I make use of mautic with my wordpress site? Do I:

a) Download and install the mautic software on a subdomain?

b) create an account on maticu.com (so, if my domain were http:testing.com, I would create testing.mautic.com on the site)

Any step by step info would be GREAT. I’ve searched and searched and so far it all seems a bit confusing to me.

  1. The Base URL is the URL where Mautic is installed. (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mautic/installation/)
  2. Those are 2 ways how to go about it. Both has pros and cons. I tried to sum it up here: http://johnlinhart.com/blog/2-ways-how-to-host-mautic

@escioecz I thought I struck gold when I found your comment, but unfortunately it goes to a 404 error page., Is there a chance this could be fixed. I’d love to know what you have to say.
Thank Monika

Hi @monika which part did you get stuck on?

You can either use the Open Source community edition, which you host and maintain yourself, or you can look at the paid version which you can find at https://mautic.com/products/mautic-marketing-automation/.

Hi Ruth
I am stuck on integrating Mautic with Wordpress and then Mailgun.

It appears that my form on my webpage is capturing the submissions, but the contact information isn’t being collected. The only reason I know this is happening is because I filled in the form in my different email addresses and they have come through as Form Submissions on the Dashboard.

Did you associate the form fields with the contact fields?

You need to select, for example, First Name in this tab if you want the first name to be pushed into the lead record field.

Ruth thank you - yes I did - I am not good at explaining what I am trying to do but I will try again.

I am using wordpress with elementor, Mautic obviously and Mailgun as my email server coming through to my own email account.

When I send a test message from Mautic it goes to my Administrator email address and that works.

I filled in the form on my popup the other night and it seems to have gone through to Mautic on the submission count. But the details haven’t shown up on the Contact list.

Mautic and Mailgun seem to be connected as the test emails are being delivered.

But the capture information from my popup just doesn’t seem to want to connect ANY where.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you very much in deed for your help.

Can you share a link to the form, and/or maybe some screenshots of the form setup?

Does this help - https://admin.mobilehairandmakeupartistry.com.au/s/forms/edit/3

if not

Not sure if you can see this one
https://mobilehairandmakeupartistry.com.au/wp-admin/post.php?post=551&action=edit

This one is pop up and the form is done with an Elementor popup in Wordpress - the form in Mautic doesn’t play nice - I am under the impression that I should be able to integrate two together.

@rcheesley are the below any good to help resolve the problem. Thank you

OK so the link is only accessible with a login, and from your screenshot I can see that the first name field is associated with the Mautic field of First Name, and ditto for the email.

When you created a form in Elementor, are you using the Mautic shortcode or a manual insertion of your form (by copying the HTML code of your Mautic form)? If not, you will need to find a way to push the form data over into Mautic, either via a plugin, integration or some other way to send what is submitted back over to Mautic.

Finally, please check that you don’t have any active filters on your contacts list as this has caught me out before now:

Elementor has a contactform 7 widget. And there is wordpress plugin to match CF7 fields to mautic fields and to push to mautic. I haven’t tested it.
Alternatively you can add mautic formfield to a WP page using shortcodes.
