From Facebook: Can't Find "Modify contact’s tags"

Hi everyone.

In the official Mautic documentation (https://mautic.com/help/tagging/), it shows an available Action to “Modify contact’s tags” when creating a form. However, I don’t see this option at all. I’m running v3.3.3.

Is it still possible to tag a contact while submitting a form?

Thanks in advance.

Hey there, the official documentation is at [https://docs.mautic.org] for your info, [mautic.com] is relating to acquia’s Campaign Studio product and should have been redirected to their docs. I’ll let the team know!

Also in answer to your question, with a campaign form you generally do any actions in a campaign. With a standalone you have more options because they are not designed to kick off a campaign workflow. So if you need to tag from a campaign form, do it in the campaign.

In other words: The “modify contact’s tags” option is still available in standalone forms.
For campaign forms, it was available in Mautic 2 but got intentionally removed in Mautic 3 in order to eliminate a bit of bloat.

This is bad - it is breaking a clients environment with more than 300 forms, which made good use of tagging in campaign forms.

What was the reason to remove it intentionally? Wouldn’t if be better to make one type of form that could be used standalone and for campaigns? But keep the tagging option?

Tagging doesn’t seem to cost much and its always good for debugging some steps too.

We have many questions about this in the Mautic forum and facebook and it came up in the Helpdesk meetup as well. If you guys can fing a way to put it back, it would be greatly appreciated.
