Handle mailer callback soft bounces - Discussion

Hey guys,

I have a quick question for the experts. I would like to report back to mautic my softbounces.
Now there’s a few options:

  • Create a segment “Soft bounces” and in the mailer callback add those contacts to that segment
  • Create a new custom field on the “Contact” model, add the “soft bounce error description” to that contact in the mailer callback, the client can then include/exclude them from segments based on that new field.

Am I missing something else I can try? How do you guys report back softbounces?Thanks in advance

I mean this could work although its not ideal.

I am actually in the process of building a solution that would allow you to properly store soft bounces among some other things. So I believe I can be useful here.

I have my own smtp server solution, I’m just looking for opinions on how to store bounce information on mautic.

HardBounces are easy, I handle them throught the DNC model.
