I am trying to set up an onboarding sequence for new affiliates. My main concern is if i use the affiliate since date field filter to catch those affiliates who joined 1 a day ago they will fall out of the segment and the campaign curated for them after 1 day will not run further (the campaign has 3-5 emails triggered after few days gaps). How can i ensure the contact remains in segment? I was thinking of using the date filter in the drip/canvas itself instead? and does parallel branching instead of sequential canvas help?
If you set the date filter as affiliate since < -1, then only affiliates will the the members who joined at least 1 day ago. But everyeone will be included after 2,3,4,5,6 etc days as well. Because if someone joined 7 days ago, that is less then -6 = -7.
Makes sense?

One detail matters here: when a contact drops out of a segment, Mautic removes them from any campaign that uses that segment as its source (unless they were added to the campaign manually). So a “joined 1 day ago” filter will kill the drip after day one.
Make the segment window longer than the whole drip instead. If your sequence runs 20 days, use something like “affiliate since” greater than or equal to “-30 days” (date filters accept relative values like that). They’ll join the segment on the next mautic:segments:update run, stay in for the full sequence, and leave quietly afterwards. Since a contact only goes through a campaign once by default, they won’t get the emails twice.
Put the delays between emails on the actions in the campaign (relative “after X days”). No need for parallel branches for a straight sequence.
