I just tested this while checking out another issue for 3.0.1 and confirm that the contact can be added to a campaign but removing seems to be failing silently. [Untitled: Jun 27, 2020 2:41 PM] Will raise as a bug.

Great. Until this is fixed, it’s impossible to start using Mautic 3.0.0 or 3.0.1, because it breaks one of the most important campaign functionalities.
