Mautic 5.0.3 AWS SNS endpoint is not working. GIve a solution to handle bounce and Complaint emails

My error here was not related to the plugin at all. I can confirm the etailors_amazon_ses works (at least for sending which I have now tested) in Mautic 6.0.7

I think that AWS secret key issue may still be a thing, need to either rewrite the key manually or spend 10 minutes cycling through keys at Amazon to randomly get one without special characters in so might be worth fixing that at some point @e-tailors_pm as it will likely trip up a lot of people who dont know the key is stored incorrectly in local.php.

My issue was (stupidly) there was a toggle in email settings (“Mailer is owner”) and in the test email template (“Advanced > “Use contact owner as mailer”) which was turned ON which should have been off. This was sending with my personal email (mautic user one) instead of through the AWS one so makes sense why that would fail.

tail -n 50 prod-2025-12-12.php found me the log in the end in var/logs (they didnt show in Mautics logs in the admin UI).

Onto the next challenges!…
