Mautic goes to installation page when i change my VPS password

My Mautic version is: 5.1
My PHP version is: 8.1
My Database type and version is: mysql

Your problem
My problem is:

I have a mautic instant running a VPS, everything is all set up usernames etc with no issues, however whenever I change my shh root password my mautic install is wiped and I am returned to the “Mautic Installation - Environment Check” page meaning i’ve lost all the work done on mautic.

Does anyone know why this might be happening?

Is this a softaculus install?

Nope installed on a contabo VPS using command line

Are the 2 users in the same group? it really looks like a permissions issue, where the old user suddenly doesn’t have access to files created by the new user / or to mysql

I think you are miss understanding my issue, When I change the VPS password, my mautic install goes back to the original mautic installation page.
