Never Ending Install

Your software
My Mautic version is: 5.2.2
My PHP version is: 8.2 then 8.1 now WHO KNOWS
My Database type and version is: YOU KEEP ON KNOCKING BUT YOU CAN’T COME IN!!!

Your problem
My problem is:

These errors are showing in the log:

Everything. I have been working on this for 4 days on Mautic Expert on ChatGPT

Steps I have tried to fix the problem:

I don’t know where to start. Is there like a basic step by step that actually works? I paid someone on Upwork and couldn’t get it to segment nor update. Finally decided to install myself using AI. I cant continue to not get paid to work. Why is this impossible. What kind of computer advanced degree does this take? WHY won’t this basic components like PhP, Apachie, the database, Mautic install, HTTPS just WORK? Are there any people who these programs work for? Or are you NAPs? Is this the Truman show and you are all laughing abt me.

“Open source marketing we said.” :joy:

@drold DM me and I’d be happy to share with you how I went about installing my instances. It took a while to wrap my head around all the moving parts like cron jobs and composer. I felt how you do now when I was trying to get it installed.

Hello @drold,

I understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected, especially after multiple attempts. However, if you hired someone to set up Mautic and it still isn’t functioning properly, it might be worth reconsidering the expertise of the freelancer rather than assuming it’s a fundamental issue with Mautic itself.

While Mautic is indeed more complex to install than something like WordPress, its flexibility and powerful automation capabilities come with a steeper learning curve. Have you checked the official documentation or considered reaching out to a specialized company that provides installation services? Another option could be using a Mautic SaaS solution from an official partner, which eliminates most of the setup challenges.

Just to clarify, Mautic wasn’t designed to be intentionally complex to push users toward SaaS solutions, but rather because it offers an extensive set of tools that require a proper setup. Also, since Mautic is an open-source project maintained by the community, it’s important to acknowledge the effort that volunteers put into continuously improving it.

If you’re looking for a simpler installation method, you might want to try using Softaculous, which automates much of the process.

Hope this helps, and let us know how we can assist further!

Best,
Ricardo
