Use email address as a segment?

Hey everyone, I’m super new to mautic and so this may be a dumb question, or I may not be finding the info I need because I don’t have the jargon to find what I’m looking for.

I’ve been asked to figure out if its possible to essentially use an email address as a segment.

We are creating a waitlist for our startup and the idea is potential waitlist customers would sign up which would be sent to a waitlist@******.com email address that mautic could pull contact info from.

Is something like this possible?

Also, apologies if I’m not explaining this well, happy to answer any and all clarifying questions!

@clinton did you try to create a segment using the email field ?
