Where to Install Mautic

Hi Everyone;

I want to use Mautic with WordPress as transparent it could be and with less direction it’s possible to being able to not being block by AdBlock and others plugins like that so I was wondering where I should install Mautic

I means, if i put it under a subdomain what the user will see ?

a call to the subdomain or everything will be rendering into/by the WordPress ?

as exemple : https://mywordpress.com & https://mautic.mywordpress.com

And what will happen if my SSL for mautic.mywordpress.com is self-generate ?

It is a good practice to put Mautic at the same domain level than WordPress ?

as exemple : https://mywordpress.com/

Regards!

I found a part of my answer here but : https://youtu.be/e8yk1_z-4KU?t=49m30s
still don’t know what will happen if my SSL for mautic.mywordpress.com is self-generate ? and if it is a good practice to put Mautic at the same domain level than WordPress ?

If you’ll use WP as the frontend for visitors, then leads won’t even know you’re using Mautic. You can put it to a subomain like this:

mautic.mywordpress.com or m.mywordpress.com (or whatever subdomain you like)

or put it to a sub directory like this:

mywordpress.com - This website is for sale! - mywordpress Resources and Information. or mywordpress.com - This website is for sale! - mywordpress Resources and Information. (or whatever subfolder you like)

Your leads will use the Mautic URL only when they will be unsubscribing from an email or viewing email in their browser. Those are minority usages.

Do not put Mautic to the same folder your WP is. Mautic and WP has some commonly named files like .htaccess or index.php which would be overwritten and either WP or Mautic would not work. It would be also a big mess.

I’m not a SSL expert so I won’t even try to answer your SSL question.
