- Introductions - Who you are, where you’re from, how you use Mautic, how your day has been

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Hi folks, I’m Ruth, based in the UK. I’m a long-term community member of Mautic having previously established and grown a digital agency which specialised in Mautic and Joomla. I now work as the Community Manager. Busy day as I’m away this weekend, so trying to get things done before the last week of work next week!
ekke Hi everyone, I'm Ekke, based in Germany. In our agency, we've been using and loving Open Source software (TYPO3 CMS) for over 15 years, and always tried to be a supportive or even driving force in the community.Mautic is a great fit for us and so in 2017, we started using it seriously. And now that the community is reinventing itself, I'm eager to support that as good as i can.
prodigitude Hello, I am Mary. I am in Arizona, so -7 GMT and my day is just starting. I work at a Digital Marketing Company and have been following and using Mautic since 2016.

Review of actions from last meeting - @ekke was having a call with Alan to get an update on M3, and will create a podcast and article for mautic.org from the call. (edited)

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FzEhoLrLjliOPktMFYV-o-bZBfl7na3Lbf6_Wml11k0/edit?usp=sharing Here is the first draft - thanks to @prodigitude for taking a look and suggesting some improvements!

:two:.:two:

Outstanding action on writing an article about dev/staging setup - @Mike Palmer was interested in taking this on. (edited)

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) @Ruth Cheesley (she/her) will follow up, may need to find a new author due to no response

Visuals for Mautic 3 - @floris was taking this on, according to Trello

ekke Are we persuing this one, or will everyone consider the one in 2-1 "good enough"?
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Good question, we had a discussion in the last meeting about whether we need something for M3 or if we plan more of a brand-style for M4 given it’s more feature-based.Regardless, we will need some visuals for this release - for example images to accompany social media posts, and so forth.Perhaps it needs splitting out into two tasks - one to work on identifying and creating visuals for M3 and one for designing a brand-style for M4?
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Or do you think we just go with the image that you have in the doc?
ekke Personally, I'd just go with that and spend my energy elsewhere. But I completely understand if people has other things in mind, no objections!
floris i made a cool logo, is there material for style format or do i cook something up? (edited)
floris i.e. pamflets, flyers leaflets or what not.
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Please share the first draft of the logos on the trello board so we can view and comment
floris yes i put it tomorrow

:three:

Review Trello board (https://trello.com/b/9PNokIq9/mautic-community-marketing-team) for outstanding actions (edited)

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) I feel that we need to focus at the moment on the beta release campaign and collateral. The others (general availability) will come as a result of that. The other tasks like pitch deck are just parked ideas.

Update on mautic.org website project

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Kick-off meeting held, myself and @ekke were present from the community (Notes and recording here - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1U45Fyt8TktJ6TqaH74IVoUlYpDLYRF8t?usp=sharing).
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Initial sprint kicking off next week with reviewing the epics, Ruth will be adding details to the issues and ensuring that everything has been captured
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Content will be largely migrated as-is in basic html code, we will need to look at whether that is OK, whether it needs refactoring and whether we want to build out a better layout using a simple layout builder. The team will migrate the content ‘as is’ so there’s a fairly large amount of work we need to do on the content side as much of it is outdated or needs writing.
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Some of this I have done already as part of the facelift I had been planning, so we have a head start.
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) It’s likely we will use some kind of layout builder, which is like Elementor in Wordpress if you’re familiar with it. This allows us to quickly and easily build out pages with a nice layout and offers several pre-created ‘blocks’ to choose from.
prodigitude We should review the SEO - and sooner rather than later. It used to be that I could search for Digital Marketing or Automated Marketing and Mautic had great organic results. Not so much at the moment. Also, do you have a social media plan that will tie in with the website?
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) Yes I totally agree, I've been keeping an eye on a negative SEO campaign against mautic keywords but the website itself had a tonne of things wrong with it most of which I've fixed, but we definitely need to look to improve the optimisation
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) No social media plan as yet but indeed it will need to be a part of this

Any other business (edited)

Ruth Cheesley (she/her) 5️⃣ .1️⃣ - FOSDEMWe have a free stand on the Saturday at FOSDEM to promote Mautic. It’s in Brussels and I’ll be there to attend - I’ve put out a call for volunteers to join me there and help with the stand. We will need a few things to be created - namely a popup banner, some fliers/stickers or something to give away, etc. Maybe also some kind of onboarding process for people we meet there.I wrote it up here: https://forum.mautic.org/t/organising-a-stand-and-speaking-at-fosdem-in-brussels-1-2-february-2020/11413 - we can likely get some support from Acquia in the design side, but we will need to write some clear briefs for them.
