Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
Hi folks, I'm Ruth and the Community Manager for Mautic. Based in the UK and working over the next two days from the Acquia office in Reading! |
1️⃣.1️⃣: Writing up the decisions on meetups
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
see https://www.mautic.org/community/ (we can expand on this as we know more about meetup account etc) :heavy_check_mark: |
1️⃣.2️⃣ Create basic Community Handbook
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
I've had some pretty catastrophic issues with my work laptop, just recovering work done and rebuilding hopefully tomorrow. Probably won’t be done by end of week so may need to push this forward to the new year. |
2️⃣ Review Trello board (https://trello.com/b/OOB4fS1p/mautic-community-team)
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
No updates from me this week owing to wrestling a broken laptop most of the week! I have made some updates to the website so that some resources are more prominent/easy to find |
3️⃣ Happy Holidays! :christmas_tree: Next meeting date? (edited)
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
I'm back w/c 6th January so some time that week? Have a great break if you are taking time out over the holiday period, and if not, see you in the new year! |
Nico Grienauer (he/him) |
:+1: :christmas_tree: |
ekke |
How about next meeting this Thursday (thus sticking with the same day of week)? I think it'd be good not to wait too long - I feel kinda brainwashed by the holidays, and need a fresh start :) |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
I would like it if we can choose a day/time and try to stick with that where possible so that people can have it in their diaries as a standing appointment. That might mean being a bit creative about timings to be as inclusive as possible when it comes to timezones, or flip/flop alternate weeks between mornings/afternoons perhaps. |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
Thursday this week would work for me |

:+1: |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
How about we alternate between 11am and 7pm (UK time) starting with 7pm this Thurs? (edited) |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
1900 UK time https://everytimezone.com/s/8f58d6941100 UK time https://everytimezone.com/s/8b219d2a (I won’t be here for this Thursday as I’m out on leave for the day) (edited) |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
cross-posting but: I wonder if maybe we do the meetings generally as asynchronous on Slack, but have say the last meetings in the month as a video call? Any thoughts? |
ekke |
Like it, except that with "last of month" we're rarely ever alternating the hour for the Jitsi |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
I meant the last two meetings |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
good point though, I need to find a way to be clearer on that |
ekke |
are we really changing from biweekly to weekly, btw? |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
Hmmm, well the thing is, if we only meet bi-weekly and we flip/flop the time, that means only meeting monthly if you’re only able to make one time |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
and I feel that isn’t really often enough if we’re going to get stuff done |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
If it’s async in Slack it should be much easier and less of a drain on time, I think. My hope is that this will keep momentum moving forward when people take on tasks. At the moment it feels a bit like folk are taking something on and two weeks later at the next meeting have forgotten or haven’t actioned things |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
or it gets done in a huge rush a few hours before |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
(I’m as guilty of this as anyone btw!) |
ekke |
true |
ekke |
i mean "true" about everyone rushing, not you :D |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
we can see how it goes and if we feel it’s too often/too much we can go to fortnightly |
ekke |
yep |
ekke |
ok, talk to you tomorrow! |
Ruth Cheesley (she/her) |
okie dokies! |
