Send Text Message (marketing message) to segment?

I want a way to send SMS as a newsletter equivalent for sending event reminders to an entire segment. This can be done with a “Segment Email” for emails, but is there an SMS equivalent to send SMS to an entire segment?

Just wondered about the same… found this feature request:

Add ability to send SMS as segment and transactional messages

Pasting from GH: We should benefit from the same feature as Email. We should be able to send a text message as a segment campaign but also use text messages as transactional messages. GH link: https://github.com/mautic/mautic/issues/7100

Didn’t know it wasn’t possible.
