Struggle to connect Amazon SES to Mautic 5.1

Your software
My Mautic version is: v5.1.0
My PHP version is: PHP 8.1.29
My Database type and version is: mysql

Your problem
My problem is: As a no-code enthusiast of Mautic, it’s been a bit hard to create a fresh install of Mautic 5.1.

I have Mautic 4 installed on another server, but I figured I should create this new one with V5.

It’s not really clear the path to install plugin or whatever is necessary to connect it to Amazon SES API and/or SMTP.

I have checked Joey Keller’s guide, but I could not understand much.

A newbie question here… Isnt’t possible just to add Amazon SMTP credentials to the email settings?

Like this:

These errors are showing in the log:

Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username “AKIAXBSUHXXKEEGP723C” using the following authenticators: “LOGIN”, “PLAIN”. Authenticator “LOGIN” returned “Expected response code “235” but got code “535”, with message “535 Authentication Credentials Invalid”.”. Authenticator “PLAIN” returned “Expected response code “235” but got code “535”, with message “535 Authentication Credentials Invalid”.”.

@gbonato You probably want to follow this thread.

I’m close - really close to having a solution, and I expect to post another reply to the linked thread within 6 hours (It is Sunday and all that … )

I know it says 5.0.3, but the same will be true for 5.1.0 (That’s what I’m using)

Please, any updates about this? I’m having the same issue…

OK, So I have it working.

I have a default docker install of Mautic 5.1.

for my mail settings I have changed:

I left the following as the defaults:

  • Scheme (smtp)
  • Path (Empty)

After clicking Save, I could then come back on click on Send Test Email and it worked.

Let me know how you go.
