Very excited to have discovered Mautic, as a user of Marketo for many years now in the enterprise world.
Looking for a Hubspot alternative for a startup at the moment, and Mautic could fit.
One question - is there a facility to provide double opt-in for countries that have tight spam laws (like Australia, Canada)?
An example of this is when downloading a gated asset. In the USA, you can put someone in an email nurture stream just because they provided their email address to download the asset. In Canada, you have to add a checkbox field in the download form “I would like to receive further material by email” AND this checkbox has to be unchecked by default. With Marketo, we’ve done this via an IP lookup on the fly.
You cannot just include a note that says “By submitting your email you agree to receive further material from us”. That doesn’t pass the Canadian CASL law. It has to be an action the person takes, to opt in.
Any thoughts on this in relation to Mautic? The fines make it not worth the risk for Canada alone, before you even consider Australia, etc.

Hi,
Is there a way to like trigger mautic to check the ending of a email. Say if an email ends with *.ca address then let mautic trigger a double opt-in? I have tried to use the leads field value with different options in the campaign builder but have not really succeeded to make this work.
