Hi Francois,
I subscribed some seconds ago. The “correct” way would be:
- You create a test email including the unsubscribe token
- You create a test segment with only me inside
- You create a test campaign which combines both the email and the segment
- Fire
Just saw you subscribed, I sent you a mailer I popped out this morning, without a subscribe button.
Added the links at bottom, I will quickly create a test segment for that.
Think I should quickly set that up and re test, unless this works of course
Both the direct link and the one masked by your email provider don’t work. That’s strange.
Did you send the link out of a campaign?
The unsubscribe URL (or form) only works if the email was sent via a campaign or a form action.
There are two more ways to send emails:
- In email detail view, “Send Example”
- In contact details view, “Send email”
In these two ways the unsibscribe link does not work.
I usually send from Channel > Emails.
From there I sent this to you as an example “Send Example”.

Does that mean in order for the link to work I’d have to build a new Campaign for every mailer?
Yes, you either need to send the email from a campaign or a form action. When you use “send example”, the unsubscribe link does not work.
To test the link, you would have to do what I wrote there: https://www.mautic.org/community/index.php/8423-unsubscribe-button/p1#p25724
Hi Peter
Sorry been overly busy on my side, and I’ve probably been spamming you throughout (apologies for that)
I am going to try and mail out of campaign today, but I agree with what you said, it should dynamically change wherever it’s sent from.
