Progressive funnel, what happens at the end?

I want to build a mailing list with 1 email / week.

…progressively!

Say I schedule the first 10 weeks and I do an automation via this sequence:

  • Trigger (segment campaign)
  • Send email #1 - immediately
  • Send email #2 - schedule waiting for 1 week
  • Send email #3 - schedule waiting for 1 week
  • Send email #10 - schedule waiting for 1 week

I start ad campaigns and I start sending leads… All okey.

Time elapses. Lead Alice has received email #7 and has an event that says “email #8 scheduled” and Bob has received email #2 and has an event that says “email #3 scheduled”.

If I “pause” the campaign (unpublish it) the trigger does not process the events and I may safely edit it.

I may add then a couple of emails at the end:

  • Send email #11 - schedule waiting for 1 week
  • Send email #12 - schedule waiting for 1 week

Then I re-publish and they go ahead. When Alice receives email #10 will schedule email #11 for the next week.

Up to here, all clear. But…

What I had no time to write those 2 extra emails when Alice arrives to her week 10?

This is what happens:

Alice receives email #10 and gets nothing scheduled (as there’s nothing below action of email 10)
Bob receives email #5 and is scheduled email #6 for the next week.

Then I add next emails and re-publish the campaign.

Bob will receive emails 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.

But Alice does not receive anything further than email 10.

Question

How should I tell the system to reinstantiate Alice to “continue” where she left off? ie: To continue with email #11?
